Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa today held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and discussed joint cooperation. 

In a joint statement issued in the aftermath of the session of talks, the two sides said that they decided to convene a Sri Lankan-Japanese Dialogue on maritime security and oceanic issues of joint interest.
