Creative people and youth are at the fore of society and are indeed the future of Kuwait "for they are who we need for the positive transformation," Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Health Minister said Thursday. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Sabah, also Acting Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, was speaking at the inauguration of the "Nuqat" Creative Conference 2013, held under the theme "Executing Culture Shock." This conference, he added, aimed at encouraging creativity and creative people, and supporting cultural and civilizational exchange. Sheikh Mohammad said discussions, lectures and workshops to be held during the conference would "executive an positive cultural shock that we and the youth need to develop and progress." He said he was confident the conference would result in positive creative ideas that would contribute to real development. He underlined that the government was always supporting activities of Kuwaiti youth to enable them contribute to development. Hussa Al-Humaidhi, a volunteer and representative of the organizing committee of the conference, said the objective behind holding this event was to address communication problems among creative people in Kuwait. The conference, sponsored by Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah (DAI), also aims at discussing the West's failure to recognize the unique nature of the identity of Arabs in the creative field, she said. Director of Media and Technical Programs, and Public Relations at DAI, Osama Al-Balhan, said DAI was keen on supporting human creative domains.
