The Tartous Archeology Department uncovered during its excavations in the Tebbet Barmaiel site northeast of al-Hamidiye area a number of archeological finds dating back to several consecutive eras. Director of Tartous Archeology Department Marwan Hasan said that the excavations uncovered a number of graves, walls and a mosaic floor bearing circular patterns connected by plait patterns. He added that the examination of a wall 70 cm deep uncovered a clay lantern containing 57 gold coins dating back to the Byzantine period.
