Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad al-Khalifa

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee stressed today the importance of developing leadership skills and knowledge for the Bahraini youth.
These include building a person's self-awareness, communication skills, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and personal authenticity.
Shaikh Nasser pointed out that these training programmes and courses aim to prepare future leaders in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Shaikh Nasser announced the launch of the Developing Leadership Skills and Knowledge Programme, which will be held on March 23-26 and sponsored by the Nasser bin Hamad Foundation.
Young Bahrainis have been the subject of our attention and the focus in the implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Nasser said.
He pointed out that they have launched several initiatives and awards that urge youth to tap into their creativity and develop their leadership skills and knowledge, which will enable them to further contribute to building a bright future of Bahrain.
He added that the programme is a great opportunity for aspiring young leaders in Bahrain. A total of 16 Bahraini nationals will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a profound learning experience, during which they develop the key skills and knowledge to better lead themselves, their organisations and Bahraini society in general.
Shaikh Nasser explained that the programme will focus on developing your potential in a number of key areas from the worlds of both personal and leadership development. There will be a particular focus on building your competence in self awareness, communication skills, problem solving, strategic thinking and personal authenticity.
A guiding principle of the programme is, "to be an effective leader, you first have to fully understand yourself".
He added that the programme will be a challenging one and will be requiring your total commitment, high levels of openness, and a willingness to discover your strengths and accept your areas for improvement. The programme will be engaging, interactive, experiential and fun, and will involve both indoor and outdoor sessions.
Shaikh Nasser fully appreciated the effective partnership with "Yela!", a leading global provider of inspiring learning experiences, which is keen to support the programme as part of their belief in the importance of building the capacity of skills of young Bahrainis.
The programme is open to any Bahraini national between 20 and 30 years.
Successful applicants will be required to attend whole programme, including staying at the hotel accommodation each night. The cost of the program will be covered by the Nasser bin Hamad Foundation.
