Oprah Winfrey says she is reviving her popular book club on the Internet. Book Club 2.0 will be a digital version of Oprah\'s Book Club, a wildly popular segment on her old \"Oprah Winfrey Show\" that went by the wayside when the talk-show doyenne gave up her long-running show. Winfrey said in video announcement she decided there was a need for Book Club 2.0 after she realized she wanted to tell everyone about a great new book she was reading. \"I was on the edge of my seat reading the book and I was like, \'Where is The Oprah Winfrey Show when you need to announce and tell everybody about this book? I need the book club,\'\" she said. The Hollywood Reporter said the book in question was \"Wild,\" a true-life story of an 1,100-mile hike author Cheryl Strayed took along the Pacific Crest trail following her divorce and the death of her mother. Book Club 2.0 is aimed at Oprah fans that read her magazine and watch her OWN network. It features iPad and mobile phone capabilities as well as a strong social media component for community building among far-flung readers.
