World Heritage List

Two more historic sites from Turkey were inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List on Monday.
The Cumalikizik village in the northwestern city of Bursa -- which illustrates the creation of lifestyle in the burgeoning Ottoman Empire -- and the acropolis of Pergamon in Izmir province -- a major centre of learning in the ancient world -- were inscribed to the list during the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee meeting held in Qatar's capital, Doha.
With these inclusions, the number of sites from Turkey that have made it onto the World Heritage List increased to 13.
