Assistant Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) for Antiquities and Museums Affairs Shihab Al-Shihab said Wednesday the Council will continue its efforts to conserve Kuwait\'s cultural heritage. \"The Council attaches great importance to the rehabilitation and maintenance of the antiquities and the historical sites countrywide in order to maximize benefit from cultural tourism,\" he said. Al-Shihab made the comments in an address to a symposium, hosted by Kuwait National Library, tonight on the cultural tourist attraction sites in the country. \"The Council has developed programs for constant conservation of the numerous tourist attractions which draw the interest of visitors to Kuwait,\" he added. Meanwhile, NCCAL\'s supervisor of historical buildings Abdullah Al-Bishi said the conservation of antiquities and heritage is enshrined in the Amiri Decree of 1960.
