Exhibition featuring 100 paintings by late artist Kamel Nezzar

An exhibition featuring 100 paintings by late artist Kamel Nezzar, entitled "Between Hope and Torments," a real anthem of life, has drawn a large number of visitors at Mohamed Laid Al Khalifa Palace of Culture in Constantine (431-km east of Algiers).

Inaugurated Thursday by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, as part of "Constantine, Capital of Arab Culture 2015" event, the exhibition consisted of the painter's trilogy: "Essence," "Infidjar" (blast) and "Rainbow."

The three elements represent the stages of development of the artist's style and work, who is also a virtual artist and engraver.

Born in 1951 in Constantine, Kamel Nezzar has a degree from the National Fine Arts School of Algiers and the school of Florence, Italy.

From 1985 to 2002, the year he died, Kamel Nezzar worked as a teacher at the Grande Ecole of Fine Arts in Algiers.
