Journey of Hope arrives in Saudi Jazan Harbor

Kuwait's "Journey of Hope" boat on Wednesday arrived at the Jazan Harbor, southwest of Saudi Arabia, on its second and last leg of the visit to the Kingdom, on the way back of a worldwide tour conveying a social and humanitarian message regarding mentally disable people.
On arrival at Jazan, the Journey was welcomed by Kuwait Military Attachأ© to Saudi Arabia Maj. Gen. Musa'ad Nassar Al-Mutairi, and Deputy General Consul at the Kuwaiti General Consulate in Jeddah Sultan Al-Subaie and brigadier Abdulrahamn Mohammad Muha, commander of Jazan Harbor security.
The "Journey of Hope" has conveyed the aspired message, confirming the ability of people suffering mental disabilities to participate effectively in the society, just like healthy ones, Maj.Gen Al-Mutairi told KUNA.
He added that the journey that has been covering several countries is hard for the healthy, noting that participation by mentally disable people in the long difficult experience and their endurance offer "evidence of their ability to give and merge in the society." The contribution of the Kuwait Naval Force in the "Journey of Hope" with a professional team proves that "armies are not only for wars but they have duties and positive roles to serve and support the society at time of peace," Al-Mutairi said.
He also thanked the Saudi authorities at Jazan Harbor for the warm welcome of the boat, and keenness on removing whatever difficulties that could face the Journey.
The "Journey of Hope" had arrived at Jeddah on October 21 and then travelled to Riyadh where they were welcomed by Kuwait's Ambassador to the Kingdom Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In the Saudi capital, members of the journey were also welcomed with senior Saudi officials, topped with the Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Shura Council Chairman Dr.Abdullah Al Sheikh.
