Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has honoured 33 female and male graduate students from the U.A.E's public and private universities who earned a score of four in the academic year 2012-2013 and the first semester of the academic year 2013-2014.
In a ceremony, he presented the honourees with certificates of appreciation, iPads and memento shields for their academic excellence.
In his remarks, Sheikh Hamdan greeted the students and urged them to pursue higher studies and engage in scientific research.
"Scientific research is the path to building the country by its students, on whom the State pins its hopes," he said.
Sheikh Hamdan also stressed that the leaders of the U.A.E., namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, are providing generous material and moral support to students and removing all barriers impeding the ongoing efforts to prepare the nation’s labour force and the foundations for the infrastructure for a knowledge-based economy in order to achieve the goals of the government's 'UAE Vision 2021'.
