More than 140 exhibitors from some 30 countries will participate in this year's International Book Fair in Cuba, organizers said Thursday. Like previous years, Havana's 18th-century San Carlos de la Cabana Fort will become a venue to showcase the latest titles, with this year's number totaling about 1,000, said Zuleyka Romay, director of the Cuban Book Institute. This year's guest country is Angola, which will send a delegation of 123 writers, intellectuals, artists, and contemporary and folk dancers to the event. As one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year in Cuba, the book fair, which opens on Feb. 14, is projected to draw thousands of Cubans. After 10 days in Havana, the fair will travel throughout the country until March 10.
