The National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA)

The National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) has decided to adopt the Private Cloud computing (NOGA Private Cloud), NOGA announced in a joint press statement with Microsoft Bahrain.
The move aims to improve the quality of operations, facilitate the work flow of the technical team and reduce costs.
The project is part of NOGA’s Strategic Plan to upgrade its Information Technology infrastructure.
NOGA Secretary-General Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Sharyan said during a meeting with the General Manager for Microsoft in Bahrain and Oman Sherif Tawfik highlighted NOGA’s constant efforts to modernize its technical infrastructure in order to provide the best services, noting that NOGA signed an agreement with Microsoft to provide solutions that will help it achieve its goals.
It is to be noted that cloud computing is an Internet-based computing system in which large groups of remote servers are networked to allow the centralised data storage, and online access to computer services or resources.
Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale, similar to a utility.
Cloud computing focuses on maximising the effectiveness of the shared resources.
