Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh named former minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh as his first deputy. “Given your experience and remarkable track record and your mastery of the petroleum industry affairs, you are appointed as the first deputy minister of petroleum,” Zanganeh said in his decree on Tuesday. Zanganeh wished Vaziri-Hamaneh success in upgrading Iran’s petroleum industry in view of serving the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation. Vaziri-Hamaneh served as minister of petroleum for two years under former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Born in the desert city of Yazd in 1945, Vaziri-Hamaneh holds a BS in mechanical engineering and MA in management. Some of his previous posts are as follows: - Project engineering in Iran’s Oil Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) -Administrative director and also member of Board of Directors in the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) -Director of regulation in Planning Department of Petroleum Ministry -Deputy head of consolidated planning department of NIOC -Director of consolidated planning in the oil industry - Member of Board of Directors of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC). -Deputy Minister of Petroleum for planning and research -Member of Board of Trustees of Petroleum University of Technology -Managing-Director of NIORDC - Deputy head of Kala Naft London Ltd. - Deputy Petroleum Minister for employment affairs Deputy Petroleum Minister for coordination affairs
