Director for Coordination and Supervision on Production at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Mehdi Jamshidi Dana told the oil ministry\'s website, Shana, that the gas processing capacity of the country rose by 2 billion cubic meters per day by activating the idle capacity of 13 domestic processing plants last year. Referring to continuing growth in gas refining capacity over the last two years, the official noted that gas processing capacity had risen from 490 million cubic meters per day two year ago to 520 million cubic meters per day this year. Transferring sour gas from Assalouyeh, onshore installations of the South Pars gas field, to Bidboland and Fajrejam gas processing plants were among the other achievements of the gas industry last year, the official noted. Jamshidi Dana referred to shortening overhaul time as another achievement in gas processing sector stating overhaul time declined by 20 percent last year. \"Regarding steps has been taken in gas processing sector, I want to assure the people that they will face no problem in view of gas supply in future,\" Jamshidi Dana said. On promoting domestic manufacturing, the official noted that almost 450 companies working on gas parts, adding it is expected all the 300 thousand gas parts being used by the industry to be manufactured domestically in next two years. On gas exports, the official stated that during the last year 2.8 billion dollars of gas condensate, 1.2 billion dollars of LPG and 182 million dollars of sulfur exported from the country. \"Saving about 300 billion rials is among the other achievements of the gas processing sector in last year,\" the official concluded.
