Looking for lessons in trials of life

Our problems are never greater than the power inside us. The deeper the sorrow carves into you, the more joy you can accommodate. Life is full of contradictions. An example is when life forces us to find a solution to a problem quickly and properly to get out of the difficult situation.
Whether it is unemployment, financial crisis, loss of loved ones, confronting a complicated personal problem, or being blocked by other pains in life - certainly you recognize the grim and lackluster flavor that sneaks in the recesses of your souls when things like this occur. Sometimes, the only thing we want to do in these situations is to go into a dark hole and cry.
But in fact, these feelings may mean to say something to you.
Ironically, the darkest times in our lives appear to remind us of the beauty of light, something that we often ignore. Although the dark times bring fear, helplessness, and feelings of their own, but a bit of light may shatter all that senses of despair.
If a single ray of light has the power to give life to beings on earth, imagine how much power our Protector - the Almighty God that is called "light upon light" could have.
“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.” (The Holy Quran, 24:35)
If a ray of light alone can give us hope, then illuminated "light upon light" is tantamount to be blessed by the unyielding spirit, full of knowledge, dreams without fear - a chance to live a life with endless possibilities.
So, whether you're feeling desperate after attending a job interview without results, financial disaster, or lament because of the injustice that exists in the world, look into yourself and find happiness by realizing that God's light is always there within reach.
Believe that the same part in your heart that is currently filled with sadness and darkness will be prepared by God to receive happiness and light abound. As said by Kahlil Gibran in his poem Joy and Sorrow, "The deeper the sorrow you tap, the more joy you can absorb."
As the mother of Prophet Musa (AS) was reunited with her son (28:13) and the Prophet Yusuf (AS) returned to his family as a king (12: 100), move your heart to God and believe that God's help is always coming at the most opportune time.
... The promise of Allah is true. (The Holy Quran, 28:13)
