Higher education remains the take-off pad for creativity for any nation seeking a comprehensive quantum renaissance to join the first world countries, a GCC official said here on Monday.
Director of the Education Department at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat Mohamed Hassan Al-Qubaisi made the statement at a preparatory meeting for the 20th gathering of the bloc's university chancellors and heads of higher education institutions, to be held in Kuwait, October 13-15.
Amid the challenges facing the world, the GCC universities have offered leading honorable examples in developing cognitive perceptions, acquiring students the aspired skills and knowledge and producing distinguished generations that fulfill the expectations of the GCC leaders, Al-Qubaisi.
He added that the 20th meeting agenda, topped with the GCC Supreme Council resolutions, constitutes a political support for a serious take-off for a comprehensive educational development among the bloc's higher education institutions.
Al-Qubaisi pointed to the limitless backing by the GCC leaders to higher education, giving an impetus to achieve the highest possible education quality. He noted that the GCC universities offer distinguished education services, acquiring students he necessary skills and knowledge in line with the requirements of the labor market.
As part of the 20th meeting, the 7th symposium of the GCC university chancellors and heads of the higher education institutions in the GCC will be held on Wednesday to discuss research financing and scientific research incentives; scientific research and post graduate studies; investing in scientific research outcome and scientific publications and databases.
