A male student was injured in a Saturday night shooting on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University, a school spokeswoman said. University spokeswoman Samantha Hargrove said the unidentified student was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive, the Greensboro News & Record reported. Hargrove said the shooting occurred outside about 10 p.m. EDT and several suspects were seen fleeing the area. Hargrove said several residence halls in the vicinity were put on lockdown. The restrictions were later lifted, the newspaper said. Taylor Brunner, a student, said she heard several gunshots. "The shooting started. I turned around and a lot of people were running," she said. Officials said it wasn't known what prompted the shooting.
