'Top Gear'

The wildly popular, auto-themed docu-series Top Gear could return to the BBC -- or head to Netflix.

The highly rated show's future has been uncertain since presenter Jeremy Clarkson was fired from the program for assaulting a producer. No criminal charges were filed against Clarkson.

His co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond have supported Clarkson and said they don't want to continue the series without him.

"We could all go back to the BBC in the future," May told The Sunday Times. "[The BBC] don't appear to be ruling it out."

The British newspaper said several private broadcasters, including America's Netflix and Hulu online streaming channels, are making offers to pick up the show.
