Egyptian businessman Mohamed el-Ameen has announced his intention to launch a new channel on CBC in April. The new broadcaster will focus on socially-minded entertainment programmes, as well as a host of culinary shows, he said. The channel will schedule six-hour live programming every day, as well as repeats from sister broadcasters CBC1 and CBC2. CBC chairman Samir Yousif has reportedly allocated 40mEGP for the launch.
