Britain's Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and his wife Catherine

The birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's second child will be announced on Twitter.

Minutes after the reporters covering the story receive the official release, the official @KensingtonPalace Twitter and Instagram accounts will inform the world about the birth.

Catherine and William aren't completely foregoing tradition. The easel on which the birth of their first son Prince George was announced will be presented as well, bearing the signatures of the newborn's doctors.

The couple and the new prince or princess will face cameras for the first time when they leave the hospital, as they did with Prince George.

The announcement will include the sex and weight of the baby as well as the time of birth.

William is scheduled for two weeks of paternity leave from training as an ambulance pilot. He will resume his duty on June 1.
