It no doubt will go down in Wheel of Fortune lore as the equine incident.
Longtime host of the puzzle-guessing game show walked off the set in disbelief Monday night after contestants gave two ridiculous answers involving the word "horse" for a four-word puzzle in the "What Are You Doing?" category.
The show was a special "best friends" edition, where three pairs of pals face off.
The first contestant team correctly guessed the puzzle contained the letter "N." They then made a guess with just that one "N" showing: "Riding a brown horse."
"Amazing," Sajak said. "And it's wrong."
The next team guessed the letter "G" was in the puzzle. It was, and the second letter was revealed.
They guessed "Riding a white horse."
The audience laughed. The usually unflappable Sajak shook his head in disbelief and then waved the contestants off in mock disgust as he walked of the stage. Moments later he headed back and when he returned, he yelled:
"Who said anything about a horse?"
The correct answer: "Seeing a buddy movie."
