A bilateral agreement for the exchange of expertise and news between Kuwait and Peru's state news agencies was signed here on Sunday. The agreement was signed by the Chairman and Director General of KUNA Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, after having been earlier signed by Editora Peru. The signing ceremony was attended by Peru's Deputy Foreign Minister Jose Beraun, the Ambassador to Kuwait Amador Velasques, the First Secretary Julissa Macchiavelo, the Third Secretary and Deputy Chief of Mission in Kuwait Gustavo Bravo Espinoza and KUNA's Editor-in-Chief Rashid Al-Rowaishid. The agreements states that both sides provide exchanged adequate facilitations for each of their correspondents, during their role, that each side may aid one another in providing information on events and official visits in both countries and unite their positions during official meetings. Other issues stated in the agreement include exchanged employee training and an emphasis on exchanged bilateral visits. During the event, Sheikh Mubarak underlined the importance of media, describing it as something that comes to "complete politics." For his part, the Peruvian official expressed his country's optimism towards KUNA's role in covering the upcoming , Summit of South American-Arab Countries, scheduled in Lima in October. The KUNA chairman also extended an invitation to Kuwait to his counterpart in Editora Peru, Hugo Coya - which was delivered to the visiting Peruvian official.
