The Daily Mail has been named as the Newspaper of the Year at the annual Press Awards, with its website the Mail Online picking up the prize for Website of the Year. At a ceremony on Tuesday night the newspaper was presented with the prize of Newspaper of the Year, as well as the Cudlipp Award, which is presented in commemoration of Hugh Cudlipp. The Mail received the award in recognition of its Stephen Lawrence campaign, which also scooped the award for Campaign of the Year on the night. The title's journalists were also named as the News Team of the Year, while writer Craig Brown personally picked up three awards on the night, including Columnist of the Year (popular), Critic of the Year and Best of Humour Award for his work in the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.
