The Latin American divisions of BBC Worldwide and HBO have agreed a distribution deal that will see the American premium pay-TV network broadcast a number of original TV series from the BBC. Among the shows that will be available on the Latin American versions of HBO's channels are two children's and tween productions – each of them consisting of thirteen 30-minute episodes. The first one is Sadie J, a series that "follows one girl's amusing journey from tomboy to girly girl," as BBC Worldwide describes it. The other one, Young Leonardo (produced by Kindle Entertainment for CBBC, the Corporation's children digital channel) takes viewers back to Renaissance Italy. The distribution deal also includes content rights for the drama Strike Back and the prestigious live music show Later... with Jools Holland. "Latin American broadcasters are seeking the attention of younger viewers and their families, so tween and teen content is in high demand – it's a real trend right now," said Helen Jurado, vice-president of television sales and distribution at BBC Worldwide Latin America, quoted by TV Latina.
