The conflict targeting Rohingya Muslims began escalating again in Myanmar, where the extensive destruction filmed by Anadolu Agency. AA filmed the effects of Budhist mobs in the city of Meikhtila. Several houses and shops as well as a marketplace composed of small retailers were burnt down and mosques and vehicles were destroyed. While security is tightened in the city, many displaced Muslims took shelter in the refugee camp where an estimated two thousand people struggle to live under difficult conditions. Residents of Meikhtila spoke to Anadolu Agency cameras recording the incidents. \"People are scared. The situation is not good and it gets worse at nights. The number of security forces have increased and they are trying to keep the situation under control. The Rohingyan Muslims are going through a hard time. The government wasn\'t successful in managing the threat, it failed to make the right decisions,\" said an elderly Christian resident. A Muslim resident said, \"We are really sad. They killed our people, burnt down our houses, stole our belongings and then took us to the police station and bullied us there as well. Authorities took no measures to protect us.\" The photos taken from satellite by Human Rights Watch had previously depicted the scale of the massacre in Meikhtila where thousands of buildings were destroyed and hectares of land were damaged.
