The number of vehicles registered in traffic in Turkey was 17.2 million in February 2013, the country\'s statistics authority has said. TurkStat announced Wednesday that the figure, however, saw a decrease of 50.7 percent in February 2013 when compared to January 2013. A total of 60,680 motor vehicles were registered in traffic in February 2013, and cars took the first place with 56.8 percent, followed by small trucks with 16.6 percent, motorcycles 13.4 percent and tractors 4.3 percent. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 8.9 percent of the registered motor vehicles. On monthly basis, cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks and trucks decreased by 54.2 percent, 40.4 percent, 32.9 percent, 65.9 percent and 45.2 percent, respectively. Motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 14.3 percent, 48 percent and 11.6 percent respectively. In February 2013, the number of motor vehicles registered in traffic increased by 15.7 percent when compared to February 2012. Cars, minibuses, buses, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 21.6 percent, 11.5 percent, 18.7 percent, 23.8 percent, 210.4 percent and 15.2 percent, respectively, while small trucks and trucks decreased by 2.9 percent and 5.6 percent, respectively.
