France's foreign minister, who will preside over a year-end UN conference tasked with sealing a global climate pact, said Tuesday success hinged on progress at talks underway in the German city of Bonn.

"We want success in Paris, and to have success in Paris, progress must be made in Bonn by Friday," Laurent Fabius told journalists on the sidelines of a five-day meeting to craft a blueprint for the agreement, the final negotiating session before the summit opens on November 30.
