Greek PM Alexis Tsipras

Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras held a phone call Sunday with US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew in which he said Greece wants the eurozone to extend it a bailout deal, but only one that "respects the Greek people".

Tsipras told Lew that Greece has proven it wants an agreement, a government source said of the conversation, which was also reported by the state news agency ANA.

The prime minister was said to have told Lew that a sustainable deal is one which "respects the Greek people and all of their sacrifices in the last five years".
