The European Central Bank

The European Central Bank has decided to raise the cap of emergency funding for Greek banks by 900 million euros ($978 million), ECB chief Mario Draghi said on Thursday.

"We decided today to raise ELA," or Emergency Liquidity Assistance, which has been fixed at around 89 billion euros since late June, Draghi told a news conference, adding that the ECB always worked from the assumption that Greece would remain a member of the euro area.
