The UN's top court Wednesday rejected a call by Kiev for emergency measures to halt Russia's alleged funnelling of money and arms into war-torn eastern Ukraine.

But in a complicated interim ruling, the International Court of Justice agreed Moscow must protect the rights of ethnic Ukranians and Tatars in the Crimea peninsula which it annexed in 2014.
