A suicide attack carried out with an explosives-laden armoured vehicle against a police base in Iraq on Monday killed at least 37 people, police officers said.

They said the attack was against a federal police base between Samarra and the Tharthar lake, northwest of Baghdad. A doctor said the bodies of at least 37 people, mostly members of the security forces, were brought to Samarra hospital.
