Senegal's ex-president Abdoulaye Wade

Senegal's supreme court on Thursday upheld a graft conviction and six-year jail term against Karim Wade, the son of Senegal's ex-president Abdoulaye Wade, in a blow to his own presidential aspirations.

The court rejected an appeal by Wade to overturn his March 23 conviction for "illicit enrichment" during his time as minister in his father's government, in which he was also and fined more than 210 million euros ($230 million).
