Pope Francis left Paraguay for Rome on Sunday, ending a week-long visit to South America where he drew attention to the plight of the poor and marginalized.

After a visit that also included Ecuador and Bolivia, the Airbus A330 carrying the pope and the Vatican's delegation took off in the evening from Paraguay's capital Asuncion.
