Pope Francis will visit Ecuador from July 6-8, Cardinal Raul Vela, the archbishop of Quito, said Thursday.

The 78-year-old leader of the world's Roman Catholics will "make an apostolic trip to our country between July 6 and 8" and visit the cities of Quito and Guayaquil, Vela said at a press conference with President Rafael Correa.
