Israeli police shot dead a Palestinian man who stabbed a border policeman near the Tomb of Patriarchs in the southern West Bank city of Hebron Saturday, police said.

Spokeswoman Luba Samri said the border policeman was in moderate condition with stab wounds to his head and chest, while the 20-year-old suspected assailant died of his wounds on the way to a hospital in Jerusalem.
