Thursday's deadline set by US lawmakers to receive the text of any nuclear deal with Iran is "not sacred," an Iranian source told AFP.

"For us, no date is sacred if it means sacrificing a good accord," the source said, when asked whether the Iranian delegation were trying to nail down a deal by midnight Thursday in Washington to meet the Congress deadline.
