Former Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi was re-elected leader of the ruling Democratic Party in a primary election Sunday, the three candidates in the race said.
Renzi's win was announced by him and his two rivals well ahead of the end of counting. About two million people took part in the vote and Renzi himself had set the bar for success at one million voters.
