Foreign firms will be allowed to own as much as 51 percent of shares of tie-ups in securities

China on Friday said it will increase foreign access to joint ventures in the country's financial markets, a key demand from the United States and other international investors.

Foreign firms will be allowed to own as much as 51 percent of shares of tie-ups in securities, funds and futures industries, vice finance minister Zhu Guangyao said, according to the official Xinhua news agency. The announcement came after US President Donald Trump's state visit to China.
