Around 40 people were missing on Wednesday after a landslide tore through the living quarters of a mine company, local authorities said.

The mudslide shortly after midnight buried 15 employee dormitories and three residential houses in Shangluo, in the northern province of Shaanxi, the city government said on a verified social media account.
