Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said on Friday that 77% of works at a new Assiut barrage and its hydroelectric station has been accomplished.

The 4 billion dollar project is aimed at improving irrigation in five governorates, the minister said in statements, adding that it will be completed in early 2017.
