After years of absence, Egyptian artist Najla Fathy visited Egypt\'s ministry of culture headquarters to express support for those organising a strike against the new minister of culture, appointed by Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi. She stressed that Egypt\'s culture is a main component of Egyptian identity, which should \"not be eliminated.\" Fathy expressed support for the position adopted by husband Hamdy Qandil, stressing that he \"did not support Muslim Brotherhood from the onset.\"
