60,000 People Have Died in Assad's Prisons
London - Arab Today

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced that at least 60,000 persons were killed including 13,607 civilians during 2016 due to the fighting in Syria.

The dead included also 2,885 children, 1,855 women, the US-funded Radio Sawa quoted the SOHR as saying.

More than 10,000 persons belonging to the conflicting parties in Syria were killed.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) issued on Saturday night a decision supporting the Russian-Turkish plan to cease fire in the violence-hit country and hold negotiations so as to find a political solution.

The truce, which was approved by the regime forces and the opposition factions, is sponsored by Turkey.
