Tehran - FNA

Eleven more armed members of the notorious Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) perished when two vehicles laden with explosives were detonated by rival Al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front terrorist group in the Eastern Syrian city of Dier Ezzur in the latest infighting between foreign-backed insurgent groups in Syria. The development comes as Syrian army and insurgent groups in al-Waar region of Homs have reached a 72-hour truce to allow the armed elements to safely retreat from the entire area, Al-Alam reported. This is while Syrian government troops have targeted insurgent fortifications in the Southern Tasil town in the outskirts of Daraa City. Additionally, fierce clashes have been reported between Syrian army units and insurgent gangs in Lattakia countryside near watchtower 45. Further in the outskirts of Syrian capital Damascus, government troops engaged armed elements of the insurgent group so-called Islamic Front in the al-Meliha town, killing numerous terrorist forces. Meanwhile, following successful operations in the vicinity of Aleppo Central Prison where Syrian forces broke the months-long siege of the compound and continued on Saturday its operations against remaining insurgents in Aleppo and Daraa regions, killing or wounding many armed elements and destroying their armed vehicles. Syria’s state news agency SANA further cited a military source as saying that army units also targeted insurgent staging areas in Mare'e, Industrial city, al-Jandoul and Kfar Hamra, Khan al-Asal and al-Atareb in Aleppo.
