Iraqi army commander: Second phase of Mosul operation

Iraqi security forces launched on Thursday the second phase of a military operation to liberate Mosul, the capital of Nineveh, from Daesh terrorist group.
The first phase of “We Are Coming, Nineveh” operation came to an end on December 15 after liberating 40 districts out of 56 on the left bank in eastern Mosul.
Al Hashd Al Shaabi militants, backed by Iraqi servicemen, managed also to purge villages in Mosul's western axis and Tel Afar airport from Daesh militants.
