Libya
Tripoli - Arab Today

Two delegations representing the Libyan House of Representatives and the outgoing General National Congress announced on Sunday a deal to solve the Libyan crisis.

The declaration of principles, inked in Tunisia, stipulated that the previous constitution is the only legitimate power in the country, and that parliamentary elections should be held within two years the latest, according to a local news website.

Under the agreement, two committees will be formed to choose a prime minister and two of his deputies within two weeks, as well as amending the constitution.

Member of the General National Congress Abdul Qader al Howaili said this declaration of principles will annul the political agreement, which was signed in Skhirat, Morocco, under the auspices of former UN envoy to Libya Bernardino León.
