Army declares 12 hours ceasefire in Benghazi
Tripoli - MENA

The Libyan army has announced a temporary ceasefire in the eastern city of Benghazi to allow the evacuation of families trapped by street fighting between militants and pro-government forces.
The army has decided to lay down arms for 12 hours, starting at 7.00 a.m. Wednesday.
A statement by the army said the decision was made due to the deteriorating humanitarian conditions and after consultation with UN envoy Bernardino Leon, British envoy Jonathan Powell and the Libyan Red Crescent.
