At least twenty people were killed in a United States drone strike in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said reports.
According to state television Pakistan Television (PTV), the unmanned aircraft targeted a house and a vehicle in Dattakhel area and fired four missiles in the latest attack killing twenty people.
The drone strike came at a time when Pakistan military is mounting a major offensive in North Waziristan aimed at wiping out local and foreign militants. The compound and vehicle targeted by drones were completely destroyed in the attack, said reprots.
Earlier on July 10, Pakistan Foreign Office condemned the drone strike in North Waziristan that reportedly killed six militants. It added that these strikes also have a negative impact on the Government's efforts to bring peace and stability in Pakistan and the region.
