At least 35 militants were killed in fresh air strikes carried by Pakistan military targeting militant hideouts in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said military.
According to Pakistan military's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the air strikes were launched in Datta Khel area of the North Waziristan tribal agency. Foreign militants were among the dead, the ISPR added.
The air strikes are a continuation of the military operation 'Zarb-e-Azb' launched in June last year against the foreign and local militants in North Waziristan.
Earlier on January 16, ISPR spokesman, Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that security forces have killed 2,000 militants in North Waziristan so far.
