Pakistani forces have killed 12 militants in fresh air strike in Khyber agency, bordering Pakistan.

Pakistani officials say that the fighter jets targetted two militant hideouts in Konda Gharibi and Kach Kol areas of Khyber agency last night, Khaama News Agency reported on Saturday.

Officials add that 12 militants were killed and both militant hideouts destroyed in the air strike.

Khyber is one of the seventh semi-autonomous regions in Pakistan where large-scale military operation against the militant groups has been initiated.

Khyber agency is reportedly the stronghold of Lashkar-e-Islam which is led by Mangal Bagh Afridi. The group is believed to have thousands of fighters with reports that it has emerged to Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
