Former One Direction member Zayn Malik and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards have ended their engagement.

According to reports, the 22-year-old, newly-signed solo artist reached out to Edwards two weeks ago in order to end the relationship. Sources tell People that Edwards is "devastated."

Malik has been making many changes to his life since severing ties with his longtime bandmates at One Direction to go solo. The heartthrob signed with RCA Records late July, posting on Twitter that the opportunity gives him space to show fans "who I really am."

Malik and Edwards got engaged in August of 2013, making their engagement about two years. On July 29, the British singer posted a series of tweets expressing his excitement for the new chapter of his life.
